Blinking lights are the unit's self-diagnostic error code. Each brand uses a different blink pattern: Daikin (green/red flash count), Panasonic (timer light blink sequence), Mitsubishi (operation indicator flash pattern), etc. Common error codes: temperature sensor open/short circuit, coil temperature too high (overheating), communication error between indoor and outdoor units, low refrigerant pressure detected, compressor overcurrent, or PCB internal fault. Tell us your brand and the blink pattern (e.g., 'timer light blinks 3 times, pauses, repeats') and we can often tell you the likely fault before we even arrive.

Yes. An MCB/RCCB that trips repeatedly is protecting you from a potentially serious electrical fault. Common causes, in order of likelihood: (1) Compressor winding short to earth — the most serious, may need compressor replacement. (2) Failed capacitor shorting internally. (3) Damaged wiring with exposed conductor touching metal casing or earth. (4) Accumulated moisture in the outdoor unit causing earth leakage (especially after heavy rain). Do NOT keep resetting the breaker — each trip creates an arc that damages the breaker contacts and increases fire risk. WhatsApp us immediately. We can usually diagnose and fix the same day.

The RM 88 diagnostic fee covers the technician's time, equipment, and expertise to identify the exact fault. If we find the fault but the part is not on the van (e.g., a specific Daikin PCB for a 2018 model), we: (a) explain exactly what is needed, (b) quote the part + labour, (c) order the part (usually overnight), (d) return to complete the repair. You only pay the diagnostic fee once — we do not charge it again on the return visit. If you decide not to proceed with the repair after diagnosis, the RM 88 fee stands (it paid for the diagnosis you received). But approximately 85% of our repair jobs are completed same-visit because our vans are well-stocked.

This is almost certainly a failed capacitor. The capacitor provides the electrical 'kick' needed to start the fan motor (and sometimes the compressor). When it fails, the motor hums because it is getting power but cannot start turning. Continuing to run the unit with a failed capacitor will burn out the motor within hours — turning a RM 150 capacitor replacement into a RM 300+ motor replacement. If you hear humming but no spinning, turn the unit OFF at the isolator immediately and WhatsApp us. Capacitor replacement is one of the fastest and most common repairs we do.

3-month warranty on all replaced parts (covers manufacturing defects and premature failure). 1-month warranty on workmanship (covers installation errors, loose connections, etc.). If the same fault recurs within the warranty period, we return at no charge. If the fault is different or unrelated, a new diagnostic applies. All warranty terms are written clearly on your job card.

We can diagnose them, but parts availability for R22-era units is declining. If parts are obsolete, we provide honest advice on whether repair is safer than an R32 upgrade.
