FreshIN 3.0 is TCL's flagship air purification feature that combines a TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds) air-quality sensor with a HEPA-grade filter and an active ion generator. The system automatically adjusts fan speed based on detected air quality. In Malaysian homes, FreshIN 3.0 makes a noticeable difference in rooms near the kitchen (cooking fumes) and during haze episodes. The HEPA filter is a replaceable part (RM 80–120) that should be changed every 12 months. The TVOC sensor is reliable and rarely fails.

The Golden Fin coating on the outdoor coil helps extend coil life in coastal or industrial areas. For typical Malaysian home use, 6-monthly chemical wash intervals are recommended for the first 3 years, then yearly intervals thereafter. After 10 years, budget for a possible compressor replacement (RM 700–1,100) if the unit has been well-maintained and you're getting 15+ years out of it.

The HEPA-grade filter in TCL FreshIN 3.0 is technically washable but we do not recommend washing it because: (1) tap water can damage the electrostatic charge that gives HEPA filters their efficiency, and (2) the filter is not designed to be fully dried before reinstallation — moisture trapped inside the indoor unit causes mould growth. We recommend replacing the filter annually (RM 80–120) and not attempting to clean it.

A standard TCL wall-mounted chemical wash takes 45-60 minutes. Ceiling cassette units or heavily neglected systems may require up to 90 minutes for a thorough deep clean.
