Dismantle only (without reinstall): RM 90. Full dismantle + reinstall same building/nearby: RM 250 (1.0–1.5 HP), RM 290 (2.0–2.5 HP). Full dismantle + reinstall different location: RM 350 (1.0–1.5 HP). All full-relocation packages include: refrigerant pump-down, safe dismantle, transport, new 7ft copper pipe, new wiring, new drainage, new wall bracket, vacuum commissioning, and full test. Additional copper pipe beyond 7ft: RM 25/ft. If the new location requires roof-mount or high-rise external condenser mounting, additional bracket fees may apply — confirmed before work.

No — we perform a 'pump-down' procedure before dismantling. The refrigerant is compressed back into the outdoor condenser unit where it is stored during transport. When we reconnect at the new location, the same refrigerant is released back into the system. You do not lose any gas and do not need a top-up (unless your unit already had a slow leak before the move, which we check during the initial diagnostic). This is the correct, professional method — anyone who says 'gas will be lost during relocation' is either not doing it properly or is trying to sell you an unnecessary gas top-up.

Single unit, same-building move: approximately 3–4 hours door-to-door (1 hour dismantle + transport + 2–3 hours reinstall). Single unit, different-location move (within Klang Valley): plan for 4–5 hours including travel between locations. Two-unit relocation: approximately 6–8 hours, usually scheduled as a single full-day job. We can coordinate the timing with your move-in schedule — the reinstallation can happen the same day you get your keys.

Copper pipes: No. They are embedded in the wall, cut during removal, and cannot be extracted intact. New copper pipe (7ft included in the relocation package, RM 25/ft beyond) is always used at the new location. Wall bracket: No. The bracket stays on the old wall (it is screwed/bolted in). A new bracket is included in the relocation package and mounted at the new location. The only components that move with you are the indoor unit, outdoor condenser, and remote control. Everything else — pipes, wiring, drainage, bracket — is new at the new site.

We do a quick survey when we arrive at the new location (included in the price). Brick wall, concrete wall, plasterboard partition — we carry the correct anchors and brackets for each. High ceiling units (above 10ft): standard 7ft copper and drain pipe may not be enough — we will measure and quote any extra pipe before work. If the outdoor condenser needs to go on a roof or a high external wall that requires special access (scissor lift, boom lift), let us know BEFORE move day so we can coordinate. Standard ground-level or apartment-ledge mounting is included.

Our honest guidance: (1) Unit is under 5 years old, inverter, working perfectly → relocate. It will cost you RM 250–350 vs RM 1,500+ for a new unit + installation. (2) Unit is 5–8 years old, working well, non-inverter → relocate is still worth it if the unit has been regularly serviced. An older but well-maintained unit can serve another 3–5 years. (3) Unit is 8+ years old, uses R22 gas, has needed repairs → strongly consider replacing. R22 is being phased out and getting expensive. A new R32 inverter unit will cut your electricity bill by 30–50% and pay for itself within 2–3 years. Not when performed by KL Renovator. We use calibrated torque wrenches on all flare connections to ensure a factory-tight seal that prevents future gas loss at the new location.
