Aux's current line in Malaysia is all R32 inverter C-Series and M-Series (sold since 2019). The inverter compressor is reliable for residential use, and the Golden Fin coating on the outdoor coil is a genuine differentiator for coastal and high-humidity areas. The main service difference for Aux inverter units is the compact indoor PCB layout — Aux uses a smaller PCB than most brands, which can make soldering repair work more delicate. For Aux PCB faults that are beyond component-level repair, we replace the entire indoor PCB (RM 280–380 part) with a direct-fit OEM equivalent.
E2 on Aux units is an indoor coil temperature sensor fault. The indoor coil sensor is a small thermistor clipped to the evaporator coil U-bend. Test the sensor with a multimeter (should be around 5–10kΩ at 25°C). If open or shorted, replace the sensor (RM 30–50 part, 15-minute service). This fixes E2 in over 90% of cases without PCB replacement.
On Aux wall splits, water leaking from the indoor unit onto the floor is most often a loose drain pipe connection at the indoor unit's drain port. The drain port has a small rubber seal that can dry out and crack after 5+ years. We replace the rubber seal (RM 10 part) and reseat the drain pipe. If the drain pipe itself is cracked, full pipe replacement from the indoor unit to the wall exit is RM 60–90.
A loud humming from the Aux outdoor unit that is not the normal compressor sound is usually a failing compressor contactor (the relay that switches the compressor on/off). Test the contactor coil (should be 30–50 ohms) and replace the contactor if the coil is shorted or the contacts are pitted. Contactor replacement is RM 90–140 in parts and prevents the more expensive compressor damage that a stuck contactor can cause.
