Isonic's current line in Malaysia is split between R32 inverter (CT Series, sold 2020 onwards) and R32 non-inverter value models. The inverter models use OEM compressors (sourced from third-party manufacturers) which are reliable for residential use but not as long-lasting as premium brand compressors. The main service difference for Isonic inverter units is the spare parts supply chain — common wear parts (capacitors, fan motors, sensors, contactors) are universal and we keep them in stock, but Isonic-specific PCBs and remotes can take 5–10 working days to source. We always discuss parts availability and timing with customers before starting any Isonic repair that requires non-universal parts.
P0 on Isonic inverter units is an IPM (intelligent power module) overcurrent fault, almost always caused by a failing compressor drawing excess current. Test the compressor windings (should be 0.5–2 ohms between any two terminals) before replacing the IPM module. If the compressor windings are abnormal, the IPM is also likely damaged and both need replacement. For Isonic units under 5 years old, this is sometimes still under compressor warranty — we help you file the warranty claim with the dealer.
A noisy Isonic unit at low fan speed is usually a worn indoor fan motor bearing. The motor itself is repairable in most cases (bearing replacement RM 90–150) but for Isonic units over 10 years old, full motor replacement is more cost-effective (RM 180–280 including labour). We always present both options and let the customer decide.
On Isonic portable aircond units, ineffective cooling is most often a clogged exhaust hose filter or a kinked exhaust hose restricting hot-air exhaust. The fix: clean the exhaust filter, straighten the hose, and ensure the hose is as short and straight as possible (max 1.5m). If the unit is still not cooling well after this, the compressor may be low on gas (R32 or R410A depending on model) — we test with manifold gauge and top up as needed.
