Direct answers
Start at the MCB, then the remote, then the socket. Those three free checks close a large share of 'dead unit' calls. What remains is capacitor, wiring or PCB. A dark indoor display is almost never a compressor — the compressor cannot run if the indoor board never woke up.
Breaker, batteries, socket, isolator, manual button. Photograph the breaker position and the indoor display (or the lack of one). WhatsApp those two pictures. If the breaker retrips, leave it off and say so — that changes who we send. The signed job card lists the part and the price so nothing is left verbal.

A click is the board trying. The capacitor usually cannot boost the compressor. That is a same-day RM 150 – 250 job, not a new aircond. Do not keep sending the click — it heats the windings. Ask for the confirmed figure on WhatsApp before anyone opens the cabinet.
Step-by-step

A tripped breaker is the free fix. If it retrips instantly, stop — that is the electrical-fault path, not another reset.
New alkalines, camera IR test, then plug a lamp into the same outlet. A dead socket is a house problem.
If the hidden AUTO key starts the unit, the chassis has power and the remote side is the job.
Click-but-no-start is capacitor (RM 150 – 250). Live indoor, dead outdoor is contactor or isolator. No lights at all is loom or PCB (RM 350 – 600).
A completely dark unit is usually power, not a ${compressor} event. We say so before anyone mentions replacement.
Definitions

The isolator is the local switch that cuts power to one aircond so a technician can work on it safely; the MCB is the circuit breaker in the distribution board that protects that circuit against overload and short circuit. Each unit should sit on a correctly rated circuit — sharing a lighting circuit or running off an extension lead is both a nuisance-trip and a fire risk.
Repeated tripping is a wiring or capacity problem to investigate, never something to fix by resetting the breaker harder.
The capacitor is a small cylinder in the outdoor unit that gives the compressor and fan motor the starting kick they need. Heat ages it faster than any other part, so it is the most common single failure in Malaysian conditions. Typical symptoms: the outdoor fan hums but will not spin, the unit trips the breaker on start, or cooling works only intermittently.
A capacitor swap is quoted from RM 150 – 250 and takes minutes — always rule it out before anyone quotes you a compressor.
A workmanship warranty covers the labour: if the fault comes back because of how the job was done — a joint that leaks, a drain that was not cleared, a bracket that was not levelled — the contractor returns and fixes it at no charge. The brand warranty is separate and covers manufactured parts such as the compressor or PCB, and it survives only if the unit was installed and serviced correctly.
Get the scope, price and warranty period in one written WhatsApp message before work starts — a verbal promise is not a warranty.
