• Traffic and parking — KL city center has congested roads, expensive parking (RM 3-8/hour), and limited loading zones. Installers factor in 1-2 hours of lost time and RM 20-40 parking costs.
• Condo access complexity — High-rise condos need lift booking, security registration, and sometimes after-hours scheduling. This adds 30-60 minutes per job.
• Reinforced concrete walls — Most KL condos have thick concrete walls that take 20-30 minutes to drill vs 5 minutes for brick walls in landed Selangor homes.
• Higher business costs — KL-based companies pay higher rent, wages, and insurance premiums.

• Heavy-duty bracket: RM 50-80 (for larger units or exposed outdoor positions)
• Casing/trunking: RM 8-12 per foot for exposed pipe runs
• New MCB circuit: RM 150-250 (for 2.5 HP+ units needing dedicated circuit)
• Condensate pump: RM 120-180 (when gravity drainage isn't possible)

How to Get the Best Installation Value

• Book 2+ units: Volume discount — 5% off for 2-3 units, 10% off for 4-8 units
• Plan pipe routing: Position indoor unit on same wall as outdoor unit to minimize extra pipe
• Choose weekday slots: Weekend and after-hours slots may have limited availability
• Compare total cost: A RM 150 "budget" installer who charges RM 50 condo fee + RM 40 parking + RM 30 drilling = RM 270 total. Our RM 199 includes everything.
